Facilities at Hunua Falls Camp

The physical environment at Hunua Falls Camp has been carefully designed so you can feel like you’re getting away from it all, but without unnecessary hardship. It’s about enjoying clean, comfortable and well-maintained facilities that work well, while retaining that essential outdoor camping feel.

The commercial-style kitchen, spacious hall, charming chapel, outdoor BBQ area and challenging adventure courses, all combine to ensure everyone can find their ‘happy place’ and recall it for years to come.

Catering

You can choose to prepare your own meals or employ the services of a catering company. It’s up to you. Hunua Falls Superette is just five minutes away and the Papakura Shopping Centre is fifteen kilometres away. For details of recommended caterers see Contact or locate.

Our easy-to-use kitchen includes:

• Commercial fan oven plus a second oven with grill and cook top
• A steamer
• Bratt pan (for commercial braising, sealing, shallow frying and general cooking)
• Walk-in cool room and separate freezer
• Toasters and microwave
• Servery and separate wash-up area
• Continuous hot water supply

Local food outlets include:

• Wairoa Restaurant at Clevedon Hotel for a la carte dining
• Clevedon Café
• Clevedon Seafoods, a fish and chip shop offering take away or eat-in dining
• Indian Restaurant, just five minutes away at Hunua Village
• Hunua Store

Accommodation

Hunua Falls Camp is laid out to suit the needs of a wide range of visitors, including families, business teams, interest groups and schools. And best of all, your group has exclusive use of the entire camp for the length of your stay. Campers bring their own pillow, bed linen/sleeping bags, cutlery, cup and plates.

• Twenty-two comfortable bunkrooms, heated in winter - twelve sleep up to six people and ten bunkrooms sleep up to four
• Separate male and female shower/toilet areas, with covered access from bunkrooms
• Full paraplegic ablution facilities
• 'Cooks' quarters above the kitchen offering:

• Small lounge/meeting room, an ideal quiet or private space as required

Activity structures
The following facilities are available at no extra charge. For safety reasons some may only be used under adult supervision. The hall and chapel are known for their excellent acoustics.

• Large hall/dining area to accommodate everyone; includes stackable chairs, folding tables, wooden floors and winter heating
• Chapel with lectern and chairs to seat 100 people
• Sheltered central courtyard garden with BBQs and outdoor seating
• Well-designed and carefully maintained confidence course, playground, climbing wall, co-operative challenges area and night-time Burma trail
• Playing field, goal posts and volleyball net
